Winter Sprint Series - hosted by Auckland Orienteering Club
Sprint Series 3, Cornwall Park (Micro sprint)
FIRST START 3:45pm - 4.45pm. Course closure 5.15pm
This event onon 22nd June will be what we call a micro. It is in Cornwall Park in an area with lots of trees with every tree mapped and controls on many, sometimes even on both side of the one tree. You have a very blown up map and have to work out which is the control you are going to. A bit of fun for your Saturday afternoon (but actually very good map reading practice).
Pre=-entry is preferred, in order to ensure enough maps are printed.

The controls are going to be set for Sport Ident Air in 2024 so, if you have one, you can use a SIAC card.
Points competition over the June/July events (points for men and women on courses 1, 2 & 3 separately)
- 1,000 points for a win
- 1 point lost for every second
- 100 points for attendance if time greater than 15 minutes behind winner
- MisPunch = 0 pts
- Best 3 scores across the 4 races – highest wins
- Setters and controllers get their average from other runs for the event they set
- Only first run on the map counts (running another course doesn’t score points)
