Covid-restrictions: Whilst current Covid Alert Level restrictions do not permit the running of this event, CMOC is planning this event in the anticipation of a change in Alert Levels from the start of December. If Covid restrictions are not eased, the event will be cancelled. All entrants over the age of 12 must be double vaccinated and show their vaccination pass as well as proof of ID. Please do not put other orienteers at risk. Entry is by eventO ONLY.

For event participant safety please follow the additional rules below. These rules are put in place for the safety of participants and event organisers:

  1. Please go directly to the start from your car
  2. Please do not go to the finish area or congregate before start
  3. People who have hired ident will pick them up on the way from the cars to the start.
  4. Start times are issued by club: 09.30 CMOC, 10.00 AOC, 10.30 NWOC, non club members, 11.00 CMOC
  5. Starts closes at 12.00
  6. Once downloaded, runners are asked to return to their cars to wait for others and to leave the event as soon as possible - PLEASE - No socialising after the event.
  7. All entrants over the age of 12 must be double vaccinated – this is undertaken on trust. Please do not put other orienteers at risk. 
  8. Please scan the QR coding signs as you leave the car park.
  9. Use the sanitizer and again at hired ident pickup.
  10. Cones will be placed 2 metres apart at the start to ensure the separation of runners.
  11. The map boxes will be placed two metres apart for your safety.

Travel directions: From Auckland - travel South on SH1 to J461 (Drury off ramp), bear right on exit ramp, turn Right on SH22 towards Pukekohe. Just after Pukekohe Golf Club (on your right) turn right towards Glenbrook, stay on Glenbrook Road to Waiuku, turn left on to Queen Street, following signs towards Otaua. At end of long straight at T intersection, turn right then onto Hoods Landing Road, then onto Forestry Road, then onto Ghezzie Road. Steel Mill Mine site entrance is at end of Ghezzie Road and the entrance to the forest is to the left (forest entrance can be obscured until you are right up to it)

Follow forest road to event centre area: please drive slowly and carefully. 

Course information:Course setter Wayne Aspin, Controller Ross Brighouse. Much of the map has not been used for many years, with coastal sand dunes, pine forest with runnable pampas grass in places. Full leg covering advisable.
Start time: Start between 10am-12 noon

SportIdent hire available for $3, at the event - pickup on the way from carpark to the start.

Online entries via EnterO are open and mandatory, and closes midnight Thursday 9/12/21. Bank transfers only, no cash payments on the day: Counties Manukau Orienteering club ASB 123052031168000 – please include reference to your name and event on bank payments. 

Entries on the day will NOT be accepted.
